155.430 is voice fire simulcast paging in Waukesha County. Why would the FCC grant a license to the county next door for a TRS?

After looking at the application again, it appears 155.8800 & 153.8600 will also be part of the trunking
system.

They should be starting the install of the trunking equipment this month. General comm got the contract for the install. A tech with the company said that the county is dreaming if they want the system up and running, everyone using it, by the end of 2009.

It should resemble the York County, Pennsylvania trunking system.

I don't see how. ??

That is a 500 MHz, 5 site multi-cast Moto P25 system with 50 frequencies using different frequencies and control channels at each site. I'm not sure I understand where this comparison comes from..

York county, PA system is NOT a moto system it is macom. He means the scanner will act the same way, p25 trunking scanner of course. If you don't believe me look it up in wiki or google it.

anyways scanner programming question.
I know with uniden 996 you do not need to program a band plan for p25 system on UHF or VHF it will track it properly.
How do the rat shack or gre, whatever they are calling themselves now, program a true (9600) p25 system? Do you need a band plan for those.
I do know with the older uniden model use still need the band plan just wondering about the new gre scanners.

So what. Washington county is about half the size of York county (431 to 911 square miles) and different band (VHF not 500Mhz).
Lets kill Washington county's system because someone else is having problems. Or kill it because its M/A-COM.

Well, M/A-Com is advising County Officials to go too York County, PA, if they want to see a similar radio system.

Which is exactly what I brought up in this thread a while ago and got my tail ripped for it! I saw NO comparisons between these two what so ever.

Band won't matter much. The vendor & the hardware/software does. M/A Comm has a horrible record of delivery of actual working as sold systems. They have huge cost over runs and have had to switch a number of systems back to or over to the GE EDACS format they bought out to get them to work at all in an acceptable way.
M/A Com is being sued by a number of counties and agencies on the east coast. NY state is a huge liability for them. That could be a company killer if they aren't careful. There have been rumblings about FL troopers going after M/A Comm as well.
M/A Comms parent company Tyco is in a spiral right now as well. I see a liability sell off on the horizon.

Alot of those systems are Opensky or Provoice. This is their P25 system. They even said that they never deployed a P25 system with that frequency range, 500Mhz, for that large of a coverage area before York County.
Moto is no better they have been sued but you don't hear much about it because they settle out of court and try to keep it out of the media.
