I have figured out purity much the id for the trunked system, but when they request to switch to another channel it seems I lose them, specifically channel five (5), do they have the capability to switch off the trunk system to a unspecified frequency, what’s happening? The known channels that I have found are: ch-1 (64048), ch-2 (64016), ch-6 (63888), and ch-7 (63856).

The channel 5 they are refering to is probably not SO ch 5 but Cornelius, FG, North Plains or Sherwood.
I'd try Cornelius 59312 first, as they chatter a lot on there about people, places and lunches.
If you look on the trunked as the TGs labled as "Detective" are actually channel 5 or their respective agency.

SO Ch 5 is 63952

Channel 3 is called "service net" and during the evening is used by cities to run records checks on people. (Later in the night it is called "City net" and some cities are dispatched here, see previous post regarding City Net)

Channel 4 is INDIVIDUAL agencies RECORDS channel, so if a BPD units says "going to 4" he is going to BPD RECORDS, but if a WCSO unit says "going to 4" he is going to WCSO Records.

Channel 3 is the SAME FOR ALL AGENCIES

ex:

BPD pack set is programmed:

1) BPD 1
2) BPD 2
3) Serivce Net
4) BPD RECORDS

and a Tigard PD pack set would be prgrammed:

1) S. Cities 1
2) S. Cities 2
3) Service Net
4) TPD Records

Hope that makes sense,
Will
