2 questions here:

Is Montpelier PD encrypted? The DB indicates NO, but a local asking for scanner help says YES.

Is Washington County Shf on digital P25? A thread from 2022 indicates YES, but the DB indicates NO.

If the database is incorrect it is because no one from the area submitted a verified report to the database asking for it to be corrected. Please remember the database is not built on FCC records or official sources, it is built and updated by members like you.

Last reports were No, but they might have changed or use it Part-time, only a substantial amount of listening will validate if PT or FT

the Sheriff was UHF, but not much validated for them in years now

I know how the DB works. If you read the forums for this state, for Washington county, in 2022, you'll see that there was a lengthy discuss and information gathering session about the county shf going to P25. You'll also see that the DB doesn't show that. One of my questions is about that discrepancy.

Here is the link to the other thread. I'm really looking for someone local who can confirm or deny my questions.

Washington County Sheriff's Office have switched back to Analog full time. 460.350 DPL 411. It is my understanding that the digital repeater (460.350 NAC 223) is still there but is not in use because of poor coverage.

VSP Troop A3 Berlin have also switched back to Analog 460.425 136.5. It is my understanding that their digital repeater is still powered up but not in use due to poor coverage. (460.425 NAC A3)

I can hear Montpiler PD using digital P25 460.050 NAC 223. I have not heard them enable encryption but I would not be surprised if they have that capability.

So much for VSP's P25 switchover.

a Link or citation, Please

Page 19 makes multiple mentions of it at least being a thought, albeit many, many years into the future. I'd guess we will see a P25c simulcast for some time, but it does seem to me that we shouldn't be surprised if they go trunked at some point later on. 3rd paragraph: "The proposal notes that Project 10A – and, by extension, this set of projects – is a step toward a likely trunked system. "

Thanks for the cite, it helps formulate a better opinion in posts, as the last doc that talked trunking was early 2k and yet we are still Analog with work on some P25 conventional
