Can I listen to the Wash MPD with a Pro-95?

I am very new to trunked systems and do not even know how to progam my Pro-95 for trunked...only conventional frequencies. Would anybody mind explaining to a newbie how to program the Wash MPD trunked frequencies into my scanner? I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!!

Unfortunately you won't be able to monitor MPD with a Pro 95. The Pro 95 will be able to trunk-track the system but won't be able to decode the digital audio. You'll have the same problem with DCFD.

Hi Shikotah,

I see this is you're first post, so if you're new, welcome to the forum!

While you did get the answer, if you weren't able to read between the lines, you'll need one of the digital capable scanners to scan DC PD & FD. If you want a RS scanner to do this, you'll have to have the Pro-96 or Pro-2096. If you want a Uniden scanner to do this, you'll have to have a BC250D with BCi25D Digital card, BC785D with BCi25D Digital Card, BC296D, or BC796D.

Hey thanks, guys!

Unfortunately, I don't have the bucks right now to upgrade...and since this was just a weekend trip to DC then I don't really have the need for a digital capable scanner. I live in WV and all the frequencies I monitor are conventional.

Thanks for the info! and the Welcome!

Also don't forget about Alexandria and Arlington are analog and Andrews and DOD system, basically except for 1 all the FED TRS UHF are analog which the PRO95 can pick up.

Thanks to you all!! It just shows what a great group this is.

I will try to enter the conventional trunked frequencies for Arlington and Alexandria. I am not quite sure how to enter trunked frequencies, but I guess I can figure it out. I do have the serial cable and I also use Win95 program (excellent program!!) I have only used it to enter conventional frequencies so far.

Thanks again
