WASHINGTON TWP. FIRE QUESTION

Hi everyone,

I have a question about Washington Twp. Fire Department in the Dublin Area. When I hear them get dispatched to a fire related run, the dispatcher tells them to respond on WASHINGTON TAC-1 talkgroup. I thought this meant the normal Fireground channel, but it's not. It's not in this database either. Does anybody know the talkgroup ID for WASHINGTON TAC-1?

Washington Township uses the Dublin system sometimes (more often, as of late) because it covers better in Dublin.

Sometimes (rare occasions) you will hear them patch Washington Fireground over to TAC-1.

The impression I get from listening to Dublin/Washington dispatchers and the way they do things on the radio is that they are well trained and know very well what they are doing when it comes to their radio systems.

Compare Washington to Columbus and see what I mean!

Yes, to the point that they are exceptionally rude! I did some security work for them when they were rebuilding their dispatch center. There was one fellow in particular that was so stuck up that I could swear he was attached to the ceiling. I guess that's what money does for a department...

On the other hand, Worthington dispatchers are very entertaining when they are not transmitting. I could sit there for hours and just listen to their comments.... he he he, kinda like listening to Swisher. :lol:
