Since the county had 4 systems, do they all carry all active talkgroups at the same time?

Also, what if any county traffic is carried on the state systems. It would seem that the county sites are all around the Reno area. Seems like coverage would be lacking in the north part of the county.

If the NHP traffic is carried on the Washoe CO. system, is there really any need to monitor the state systems when in the Reno area(for NHP traffic).

Thanks for any info.

Josh,

Welcome to the group.

The county has only one system. There are 4 sites in the system that carry the same traffic in simulcast.

The state system is for the most part non-functional except where it is simulcast on the Washoe County Regional Communications System. Only the Reno sectors of the NHP are on the WCRCS system.

You have a Pro-95, Do you have Win95 and a programming cable? If so you can download the file below and your scanner will be programmed. ;)

The programming cable is available from your local Radio Shack as part number 200-0289 or via the internet at http://www.blackbagsoftware.com.

You need to rename the file from washoe.p95.txt to washoe.p95 for Win95 to work with this file. Win95 is available from http://www.starrsoft.com. If you use Win95 you can back up your current settings, load the Washoe County stuff then restore your settings when you get back home.

I think you guys need to do a little more field work. The county system also has sites at Poito Valley (Empire), Fox Mtn (Gerlach), and Chimney Peak (Verdi).

You've heard all these sites? They are operational and fully functional? If so why have you not submitted the information for inclusion in the database? We only put information in the DB of what is really there not what may or may not be. ;)

If you have additions by all means submit them. Thanks.

Thanks, Michael

Michael,

Thanks for the file for the scanner. I do have all the computer programming equipment. I have never dealt with trunking systems as we don't have anything like that here. Everything is VHF/UHF conventional. I used to work in the County's radio shop here, so I am very used to working with radio and microwave. However, the trunking is new to me. The only times I have worked with trunking radios is to convert them to 900Mhz ham operation, and my only concern is to disable or hide the trunking modes in the radio (Motorola will not let you get rid of all the trunking data and jsut use conventional channels, there must be one trunking mode).

I attached the file with the program that I am currently using in case anyone is interested. This file was my second attempt at getting everything right. It is what is currently in my radio and several friend's radios in Reno. Just a reference from a first timer's attempt.

Thanks,
Josh

Trying again

Here's the file again. Maybe I goofed up, never tried it before.

Anyway, here goes...I added a .txt to allow the board to take it. I think that is what you did Michael.
