Hi guys,
I was in Reno yesterday from Elko, (btw you left the bumpkin detector turned off). I loaded the Peavine and Red Peak frequencies into two seperate banks of my Pro-94 and attempted to scan the TRS system. I heard some traffic on individual channels as I was loading, (I tried to load by computer and also loaded them from the keyboard). I could never get the radio to trunk. It just kept scanning the channels looking for the control signal.

I've scanned systems in the past with this radio, and have had no problem. I put the frequencies in the LCN order shown on this site, making sure to start with channel 1, 51 etc in the banks. Any other ideas as to what I screwed up?

Thanks...

Joe - Don't know what to tell you on the Radio Ref database - I hadn't payed much attention to it lately but I believe someone has changed it - I could have sworn that what I had and it agreed - but it obviously doesn't now - Here is what I have for the freqs in LCN order left to right - both Red Peak and Peavine operate on the same frequencies and are simulcast - I turned on both my scanners 246T and 780xlt tonight and checked and both seen to be scanning the system fine - sorry you had what appears to be bad info - - but be aware the freqs will soon be changing due to the nextel settlement - Joe

866.2750 866.5750 866.9000 868.2500 868.5000 866.3000 866.6250 868.2000
868.4500 868.7000 866.3250 866.6000 868.1750 868.4250 868.9125

Joe K you have 868.5000 868.2500 reversed, should be:

LCN4 868.25 LCN5 868.5.

The other Joe, sounds like you didn't program these freqs in as TRUNKED EDACS WIDE freqs.

Listening to Red Peak now and works fine.

thanks guys

I'll try again next time I'm in town. Not much TRS activity out here.

The frequencies in the database are correct. You probably set the receiving mode to like FM or something instead of EDACS. I’ve done that when using the program for my Pro-95. I set it to conventional one time and put trunking frequencies in there and was wondering why I only got the control channel and bits of conversations. That would most likely be the solution to your problem
