Two new TG's

Guys

I didn't pick up any useful transmissions, but, my scan did pick up 2 new TGs 12302 & 12303
off the Washtenaw Co System. I am assuming these 2 are the new Metro Channels?

Okay Thanks for that info, now, are these going to be used as dispatch for strictly Sheriff or are these going to be used in conjunction with agencies such as Pittsfield, Northfield, & Ypsilanti or are the aforementioned still going to run their own dispatches like before?

Right now, your guess is as good as mine. I have no idea how this is going to planned out at this time. However, Pittsfield Twp. PD will be changing over in the near future.

Northfield Twp. on Metro West

Ron,

It would appear that Metro West (Who btw sounds great here in Lenawee Co) is dispatching Northfield Twp's. cars 41 series. So that answered part of my question.

As of right now...

Metro East is going to be Ypsilanti City dispatch
Metro West is going to be WCSD, Northfield Twp, MSP26, and the metro parks officers.
Pittsfield Twp has not switched over to digital yet but can still communicate with the sheriff's department on PSCALL.

Is this supposed to change in the near future? I was under the impression that All Metro Dispatch traffic was going to be divided along US-23; hence, the East and West talkgroups. I know several deputies in Ypsilanti Twp. were really confused about this, and thought they were supposed to be on the Metro East talkgroup.

According to an email they say there are "operational considerations" before they implement the east and west talkgroups

What they should do is do a setup similar to the old Washtenaw Co. TRS and not worry about the east/west stuff. That way it takes the confusion out of it for the Sheriff deputies.

Greetings All!
I have a pro-106, live in Washtenaw county, and just recently, like two days ago, my radio went pretty much silent. I get just a little chatter from Pittsfield Township. My guess is the radio system has been switched from the old TRS to the MPSCS. Although I have searched the site, I have yet to find instructions on how to reset my radio to receive this new system. Could someone please direct me to a link or provide instructions on how to get my radio working again. My radio is on constantly, so I am having a bit of withdrawal.
I set this radio up about two years ago, using a trial program and a USB cable. I never looked back because it worked. I am concerned the USB cable will not work as I now have a new computer the uses windows 7.
Thank you,
Duane

You are correct, all of the public safety users of the analog TRS have migrated to MPSCS, as of early this morning. (Other listeners have helped me confirm this.)

The best thing I can suggest for programming your radio, is to download the version of PSR-500 programming software you prefer. Your programming cable should work with your new computer, mine works fine with Win 7. You will just have to check your serial port settings, to see what port the USB ends up being assigned to. (Mine is on Com 9, for instance.)

Once you have the programming software, use it to pick the items you want to listen to, from the menu it provides, when getting the information from this site's database. (That does require a paid membership.)

You can program by hand, but that is extensive to explain to someone, and I do not know if anyone has made a page for that.

Thank you for the quick response. Later this afternoon I hope to have time to work on this. I have no problem with the paid membership if it gets my radio working again.

Thanks again,
D.

Washtenaw County Frequencies

HI:
My radio has worked fine for three years now. I was able to hear the whole county. I can now only hear pitts dispatch. I have tried to setup the frequencies from this site yesterday and they do not work. I have made my own setups in the past. I have tried everything I can think of. What does the changed from #001 simulcast to 001 simulcast mean?? Can someone help me?

What radio do you have? Most of Washthenaw County have moved to the digital MPSCS system so you need a digital scanner to listen to it.
