Water Rescue Green River..

Sounds like this is the Palmer-Kanasket area of the river. Swimmer hit his head on a rock and went under and was not seen since. Dive 14 now on scene( with 6 divers) as well as many various engines and crews.. This is taking place on King Co/Val com fire Tac5 TG 30672. One crew using chainsaws and equiptment to clear a path for Rescue crews to the scene.. Rescue 80 now on-scene with thier boat... Crews searching a deep pool downstream from some rapids the person was last seen...

UPDATE: Water Rescue Green river....

KCSO has 4 Divers on scene as of about 5mins ago. Still searching for swimmer. There are now approx. 4 or so boats in the water.. with numerous divers...

Ravensdale, WA - River Rescue 09-08-08 Length - 55:13 Units were dispatched to 32101 Cumberland Kanaskat Road SE, Kanaskat Palmer State Park for a teenage boy who was lost in the river. Chief 89, Battalion 89, Battalion 88, Rescue 89, Aid 88, Aid 80, Engine 80, Rescue 80, Chief 84, Medic 12, Dive 14, Dive 31 and Medic 12 responded. King Co Sheriff also sent their dive team. After a lengthy search the teenager was found in the river but no resuscitation attempt was made.

This was my district. Very sad call. We have been out to the park several times this year for similar type calls.

Yes was a very sad incident.. I have heard several calls out to that area of the river many times this years as well. Its a dangerous little stretch of river..People do not respect it enough...
