We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I just got a BCD396T and I'm trying to set up the tone outs for Waterford Fire Dept. I've searched endlessly and am having a hard time coming up with the freqs and tone settings. Does anyone know where I might find them or others in my area (Oakland County-Michigan)?

I've read through the database. Maybe I'm not understanding the tone outs. In my scanner it requires a frequency and a tone a and tone b setting. In the database for Waterford fire for example, it lists the following:

Frequency Input License Type Tone Description Mode
154.38500 150.77500 KQC357 BM 110.9 PL Fire - Dispatch FM

What is the difference between the Frequency and Input column, what is the Type column and under tone, it only lists one tone. It won't accept 110.9 for a tone. It is asking for a 4 digit (0000.0) Hz format.

I've been into scanning a while and I'm familiar with conventional, trunked and digital scanning but I'm not familiar with tone outs. I got some brief information in the tone out thead here but just not sure how to take the info from the database to enter into my scanner for tone outs.
