They stopped the patch from Open Sky to thier old VHF frequency!

get used to it cause everyone around here in oakland county is going to open sky expect southfield its ashame cause i enjoy listening to whats going on been on for 26 years now my scanner is getting more quite !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the FD's north of M-59 and others are still patching to their old frequencies with the recent exception of Waterford. I still hear Independance, Springfield, Holly, N Oakland, Groveland, White Lake, Orion, Rochester Hills, Highland, Milford, Commerce, Brandon, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills, & Auburn Hills. All of this w/o an external antenna on my 396XT in Davisburg.

You loose contact if there is a mutual aid situation as they generally don't patch that mutual aid Open Sky channel.

Where did you hear that Southfield will be switching over? I know a lot of the people over there and most of them want nothing to do with Opensky.... that is why they are not on it now.

i was talking to and officer from another department he said that most if not all of oakland county will be opensky west Bloomfield is Bloomfield hills is farmington is southfield is next after the first of the year

I just wish he would hurry up.

Well it is true that over 90% of the county is on opensky, did he specifically mention that Southfield will be switching? I highly doubt Southfield will be switching. The city just invested some decent money, within the last year, on getting new UHF radios that are capable of narrow banding, as the old ones were not. I can not see them spending this money, then turning around and throwing them away.
