Watson W-801 vs Diamond RH519

For daily use in all areas on a 246T, I am looking for an antenna better than the stock, but still classified as a portable.

I have in the past used the Diamond RH-3 (attenuating, very durable)
and the Watson W-801 (I feel it is poorly constructed as the BNC connector seperated from the coil)

I bought a couple band-specific rubber duck antennas, including a VHF Larsen that is awesome. Also have a Diamond RH77, but that is a little tough to slip in your pocket.

Are you looking for an all-band antenna or one specific band?

Austin condor. Iti is a great all band duckie. I have one on my hand held.
though it is about 10 inches long.

Does anybody have a recomendation for 800mhz?

I personally use a RH3 from Diamond for 800mhz Trunking as the system strength is excellent in my area. If trying to pull in the signal I would suggest a band specific antenna.

Recently purchased the Austin Condor for my Sportcat. I have seen/heard a noticable increase in reception in the VHF hi and UHF frequencies. There seems to be a slight loss in 800 reception. As most folks point out, there are no "best" antennas, but this has been an excellent addition. While the length does pose a bit of a problem, the antenna is very flexible.
