Anyone have any specific suggestions for the Watsonville Fly-In and Airshow (May 26 - 29)? This is the first year that I've had an air scanner available, and I'm hoping that some locals might have logged additional frequencies (airboss, etc.) during the last couple of shows.

Here's what I have:

Watsonville Tower - 126.4 (only used during airshow)
Watsonville Ground - 121.05 (only used during airshow)

TOWER HOURS OF OPERATION
Friday - Noon - 6 p.m.
Saturday - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

WVI Unicom - 122.8 (the normal operating frequency for Watsonville)

Oakland FSS - 121.1
NORCAL APPROACH/DEPARTURE 127.15

I live in the flight pattern for Watsonville and those are the primary channels to listen in on (haven't yet found frequencies for the mics, although if you find them, it would be worthwhile watching the show out on Buena Vista and just listen to the mics via the scanner)

Thanks!

We're out on Green Valley Rd. by Pinto Lake. Sometimes we get traffic overhead. Last time the Harriers were at the airshow, they came in right over us -- the noise was incredible!

I'm not sure whether we'll attend this year -- I wish there was more information on the warbirds that might be there.

Hey! I'm right near you! haha! I'm over here by Amesti. I usually go out of town camping with friends over Memorial Day weekend, but I stayed in town long enough to see the 4 Harriers fly in....that was amazing! Heard 'em on the radio before I saw them and then the noise was deafening....great stuff. Won't be around this year though as I'm going to be up in Shasta

Crista,

I have a PRO-97. There is a search bank for the civilian aircraft bands, but as far as I can see there isn't one for the military bands. It might be worth trying the "Signal Stalker" function during the airshow period.

Thanks,

Last year during the airshow on Saturday we were in the Corrolitos/Freedom Blvd. area and some of the warbirds were flying directly overhead in formations. Pretty slick.
