Your correct . With the latest software, we just connect our scanner to the internet and download the system. Its times like this when the updated systems have not been entered in RR data base that we have to remember how to manually program our radios. Thanks for supplying the updated freqs and making us think again!

Ok Using ARC996, I managed to enter all the re-banded frequencies, then changed the Bandplan to 800mhz Custom, changed inside that to REBANDED, and now my Uniden 996 is tracking the re-banded WCTRS correctly.

Now if I could figure out the Radio Shack Dynamic Duo that I have, LOL....

Rebandings for dummies....does this mean changing the frequencies on my scanner and punching in the tags?

Ok I got my Pro-197 to work.

Used Arc500 (THANK YOU BUTEL!), Read from scanner (Since all frequencies were loaded correctly), then clicked on TRUNKED SYSTEM in object browser, Clicked EDIT T-Tables cell, Click LOAD REBAND TABLE and BINGO! I am now tracking WCTRS properly.. Nice to have my scanners working properly.. Thanks to Radio Reference and all the users!!!

Looking for help with BC246T Uniden model, do I just need to reprogram my scanner with the new frequencies?

Feed Back Up

Well, I just got done flashing the feed scanner and changing the programming... The new version of ARC-300 made it pretty easy...

Hopefully the feed is ready to run again. It's been pretty slow on the fire/EMS side tonight... I did my 346XT first and haven't heard a single FD call, but WSD is active so it sounds like things are working.

Fingers are crossed...

Your correct of course, Fire/EMS is very slow, while Police side is very active.
I have seemed to determine that my Uniden is slower than my 197... I am sorry
if everyone (But me) knew that. But it looks like I am going to send the Uniden
off for repairs (No audio EXCEPT for the headphone jack)...

Rebandings for dummies....does this mean changing the frequencies on my scanner and punching in the tags?

Press the lower part of thing on left side of scanner that looks sort of like a push to talk button
You should see menu
Turn the right knob on top the scanner to "see scanner info" and press E
Scroll to Firmware version version, hopefully you have 2.60.00
If not you will have to go here BC246TFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki
and download the update to send to your scanner.
You will need the cable that cane with the scanner.
After sending the firmware update to the scanner you need to program in Band Plan 1 & Band Plan 2

Go here for info on programing Band Plans
Easier to Read BC246T Scanner Manual
Scroll down to
Edit Band Plan (Custom/VHF/UHF Motorola systems only)For Custom (rebanded) Motorola Systems.
Do Bandplan 1 first then go back and do Band Plan 2
Hope that help you

Thanks for tips on rebanding

Mrfixx, thanks for the tips. I would have missed changing to Custom, etc. because I needed to update my ARC996 and ARC246 software -- it was about time anyway. Radios work fine now on Waukesha TRS.

Your Welcome radio50!!!!

I even told the guys at the local Radio Shack how to get their display scanner, Pro-197
to work properly.

I hope we are done with changes to the WCTRS for awhile!!! hehehe

Hi everyone,

Can I still get any of the WCTRS on my old PRO-93? I haven't tried any changes yet but could sure use the advice. Thanks!

For all of you having issues scanning ID trunk groups, the answer is...
if you listen to Motorola analog systems (which still comprise the largest number of public safety systems), your scanner will probably not track some or all channels in the system after rebanding.
(read the rebanding tech page on this forum...)
Here's a list of scanners that will partially work...
Which Scanners Stop Working?
This is a partial list of scanners that are expected to stop working on most rebanded Motorola analog (3600 bps control channel) systems:
Uniden Scanners
BC235XLT
BC245XLT
BC250D
BC780XLT
BC785D
BC895XLT

Freescan / uniden 396xt

Pro 197 works with this plan:
Lower Upper Step Offset
851.025 854.000 25 440
851.00 868.985 25 0

Thanks for posting Gasman, also works quite well with my FreeSCAN programmed uniden 396xt set as sitetype "Mot Custom/Reband"

No bouncing seen, hits on the regular and splinter freqs, plenty of action heard.

I've wondered why my scanner has been so silent the last few days. So I assume I have to reprogram these frequencies?
