Here is a lesson in drawing premature conclusions. I was on vacation and just got back yesterday. I read the this board at my hotels so I knew that this system was being rebanded. I have 2 UNIDEN BEARCAT 250d's that were not supposed to be able to trunk track the rebanded systems. But, I programmed the new frequencies and it's trunking them perfectly as if nothing changed. So that was a nice surprise for me in that I don't have to reprogram them a conventional(unless I want to) and don't have to set $$$ aside to replace the scanners at some point. Obvioulsly, when Milwaukee and Waukesha go digital, I'll have to. But at least give it a try first before you assume that your scanner won't work as it once did.

Does anyone know how to change the bandplan in a 796D?
I got the new frequencies in with ARC250, but I cannot
figure out how to change the bandplan with it. Anyone know
how this is done???

Ok, After doing extensive research and finally looking and searching Uniden's website, I determined that the scanner needed the rebanding firmware update. I performed that, then I followed the instructions for the rebanding programming on the same page. Now the 796D works fine for WCTRS..

Reband

great, my two scanners both dont like this rebanding, time to ask my chief for permission to get my own MTS2000 on the trunked system.

Just so you know you cannot just ask the chief he will deny your access to use an mts2000 or any motorola 800mhz radios why I know that because im the wctrs system manager so don't even bother with that request because I see all radios that are online with the system and if I see any radios that are not supposed to be on here I will track them and prosecute criminal charges so beware !!!!

New TGIDS?

Would you happen to know the new TGID's for WCTRS? I've got all the new frequencies programmed, but when I try to enter "6288" for Muskego Dispatch, my scanner tells me "Bad TGID" Please help!

You're the system administrator of a multi-million dollar trunked system, and you type like that? Go ahead, tell another one while you're at it.

Don't waste your time. The county will not program a personally owned radio, even if your Chief takes it to them. If you get issued a department radio, then that's another story of course.

1. What you are essentially saying is, a radio must be purchased from you before you program it?
2. What i am assuming is your call sign comes back to:
Jonathan R Campos

1910 Madera St #11

Waukesha, WI 53189

USA
3. I did not see a name like that on the link.
4. You would think that someone with your power/ in your presumably very powerful position would at least be able to use proper spelling, punctuation, and maybe have a bit better tone with one of your subscribers.
5. I appreciate the info however, I have followed the progress on the system since I was 12 years old, even biking to the Prospect hill location to see where the site was located and admire the antennas on the tower.... and all I could think of was "wow, this must cost a ton of money" which I guess when you operate as a monopoly, I guess that's not a problem.

Nothing changed that I am aware of...all TG's should be exactly the same. If you aren't able to enter it, or hear traffic on it, then something is wrong on your end.

If that was fiscally possible right now, that would be great. But many communities have yet to even pay off their initial buy in back almost a decade or more ago.

x2, I programed a pro-91 last night no issues.

I am in the process of emailing the president of the 91 as well as the Waukesha ARES. These groups members have volunteered their time and worked hard to establish a strong relationship with surrounding municipalities. You apparently did not think twice about representing your self as a county official, which not only appears to be false, but also misleading. On top of that you had no issue with accusing me of jamming ham radio frequencies. Next time you feel that you have some advice to offer, I recommend doing so in a polite manner. This thread is to offer help regarding Waukeshas trunked radio system. Not for you to cast bogus threats and falsely represent yourself. I will offer no more comment regarding your posts unless it directly pertains to the WCTRS in a positive manner. Feel free to contact me VIA PM if you feel the need to.

The Muskego Police Dispatch is now being heard under ID: 001-8 instead of 6288. I have a BCT-15x, and I only changed the frequencies for the reband.

your scanner appears to possibly be in HEX format instead of DEC format.

Have checked scanner settings, it is in Decimal format. When trying to enter 6288, I get "bad TGID" displayed on scanner screen. No settings were changed on scanner except for the 13 frequencies for the reband.

It's still 6288. Somehow you messed up your fleet map settings.
Using menu go to that system and scroll to Edit Sys Option
press E
Scroll to edit fleet map and press E
Scroll to Custom and press E
Scroll to Size Code 0 and keep pressing E until screen goes back to edit fleet map
Press Scan

The main shop is on davidson, however, there are multiple sites scattered through the county. I know there is a local website that has address's to all of them, I just cant locate it at this point!
