Has the Wayne Co. Sheriff Switched to the MSPCS or are the still on there own 800 Mhz system? Programming a 396 for a friend and he wants to be able to monitor them, also wondering where U.S. Customs are.

Not trying to be rude, but why do you ask a question like that before checking the database that is availabel to everyone? If you had you would not have had to ask!! and you would have found out that their control channel and their system is still active.

Just curious.....

Wayne Co. according to the database has 2 systems. Old and New. Why would I waste my time programming an old system in if it going to be obsolete.

I read the information on the systems including state wide and it said Wayne County is going to the new system and keeping old as back up. Reading the text available tells me to program both systems.

If you had looked at the old system in the database and could read you would have seen
"The patches to the newer Type II TRS have been removed, and there is no longer any activity on this system whatsoever. However, the data channel still remains active.". So why bother asking the question if it is already ansered?

Sorry for my oversight, but it seems like now I am getting ridiculed over a simple mistake.

Chris,

This is where the Wayne County Sheriff (WNAJ346 - 853.5125MHz ) still hangs out.

And the customs folks are on the new mpscs system. Try the Northville site on (WPBV618 - 867.9125MHz)

though that is correct, you should include a 4 control channels that do change every 12 hours:

856.0125
855.5125
854.5125
853.5125

I am not sure why they still have the old data still in the system. The two systems merged together several years ago, and the new one is the ony one active. Wayne County Sheriff wants to switch to the MPSCS system, however no towers have be built and no agreement has been reached by them with Motorola. The game is called Wait and See.

For now they the Sheriff's department and the Airport Police will continue to use their type II Motorola system, they will eventually have to switch but who knows how long.

All of our mobiles have been reprogrammed to include a number of MPSCS talkgroups (which we are actively using on a limited basis...daily). Our digital capable preps have also been reflashed/reprogrammed for the same. Our Highland Park Division has been working off the Detroit Digital system since last September.

The "old" and "new" systems you see referenced in the database are actually the older (obsolete) and old (primary active) systems at this point. Our newest "new" system is MPSCS.

Don't mind the resident patoots. Feel free to ask here anytime (the database is far from accurate anyway).
