I have been listening to the Wayne County Airport Authority TRS, over the past two days. I have heard some of the police and security units say they were returning to their stations, to change out their old radios for a new one. Anyone have a clue as to what's up?

Just a wild guess, but maybe they don't swap batteries on radios, instead grab another radio out of the charger.

Especially those ImCRAP batteries.

You know the ones that say they are charged and after keying it the 2nd time it goes beep beep beep and dies!

Expensive POS they are.

Well, what is the general consensus, bad batteries? Bad chargers? IMPRES issues? I'm curious as to why this might be done.

The issue is that the batteries won't charge unless they are down below 30% charge. Our batteries aren't even 2 years old yet and you get like no talk timeon them before they start beeping after you unkey it then all of a suddent you get a batter low tone then they go dead.

They are expensive as heck too.

I've never had an impress battery not charge.

It will only charge when the battery level drops below 30%.

Id rather take my chances with the regular batter. It's 1/2 the price and from what we've seen they last as long as the impress batteries.

Impress was another Moto way of sticking it to the people paying a crazy high price for a batter and special charger.

The Airport Police are doing some upgrades this weekend. Not sure if this is related, though.
