The other day I was listening to several transmissions on the 145.250 repeater. I started in Orange County and listened all the way down to Newark, New Jersey. I took the NYS Thruway to Route 17, to the GSP. I was listening in on my handheld portable scanner from inside my vehicle without an external antenna. I get the Schunnemunk site full quieting from Orange County, but was amazed that I was getting a great signal all the way down that far south into NJ, and without an external antenna.

I looked up the frequency and saw WB2BQW and noticed 3 other transmitters besides Schunnemunk...Albany, Selden and Elk Mountain in PA. I know Schunnemunk is a great site (used it on LTR), but I was never was able to get it that far south. Based on the locations of the other transmitters, it doesn't seem like it could be them either. Do they have a site in NJ that would cover that area ?

Cliffside Park would probably give that NJ coverage I'm hearing. Can anyone confirm that site?

It's known as Northeast Connect and is a VERY wide coverage repeater system. Trouble is hearing it in outlying areas, 145.25 is the video carrier frequency of cable channel 18 and most systems leak video buzz like a sieve.
