WCCS & NSRS - Digital Option?

Anyone know if the Washoe County Communications System or Nevada Statewide Radio System have digital options?

In other words could we go digital without much effort or warning?

I know that Nevada department of Public Saftey is on the APCO-25 committee as contributors for private/local government.

The WCRCS was designed to interface with the NDOT statewide radio system - Reno area NHP is interfaced with it now- therefore it does potentially have statewide capability - at present it is not digital - I am assuming that to go digital all the equipment would have to be switched out.

There are too many systems relying on each other that would have to be totally changed if one system went digital. Washoe County spent too much time and effort going trunking to switch to digital right away. Maybe in the future they may change to digital as other agencies switch over.
