If you know the home airport they are flying from, go get a good eyeball on them and note their tail numbers, then just listen to your local airband and listen for those tail numbers. If they have their own VHF inter-aircraft frequencies, you would have to do some detective work.

I am new to scanning and just purchased a PRO-97 from ebay. I would like to listen to the cloud seeding aircraft used in alberta during thunderstorms. Could anyone suggest how best to achieve this?

This is the website;
http://www.weathermod.com/projects/hail/alberta.php

I have heard the cloud seeders use Provincial Birddog frequencies coordinating with the ALBERTA SUSTAINABLE RESOURCES AND FOREST PROTECTION OFFICERS a couple of years ago. Search between 121.5000 and 131.8000 during severe thrunder storm warnings in the area and listen.

I found some notes:

radio frequency is 122.95 Mhz using HailStop 1, 2 or 3 call signs

Keep you ears on 122.95 as they use this alot according to my notes.
