I'am looking for a HT Weather Radio that can be ran by AA Batteries. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would like to get one because I hear the season is getting bad.

Thank you.

I stated in another post how much I like my new Midland WR-300. I picked mine up online for around $43.00, and it also has AM/FM, bedside alarm, runs on 4 AA's when power fails.

I also like the WR-300, but it's not a handheld.

RadioShack has a handheld one that runs on AA's. It's SAME programmable, so it only alerts you for your area, or other areas around you that you want to program in.

I think it runs around $50....

I read some reviews on handheld weather radio's awhile back. I think Midland makes a yellow colored one that you can get at wal-mart, and the review was bad. It said to steer clear of it.

I say spend a bit more and go with the radioshack one. It looks cool and seems to be worth the money. I wouldn't mind having one, only I have 2 weather radio's, and 5 scanners that have weather alert built in, so i'm not what you'd call desperate. LOL

Yes !! Those yellow Midland handhelds suck suck SUCK!!! I had one and it was terrible. The receive was almost non-existent. It was built flimsy. The backlight sucked. The display was hard to see. And the damn thing was overpriced at $40.
