I was wondering if anyone could tell me the frequencies that the weather spotters use in the Loveland/Ft. Collins area, Greeley area, Longmont area & Cheyenne Wyoming if you have it? Thank you in advance

WX Spotting

The primary frequency for WX net in Fort Collins area is the 145.115 repeater on Horsetooth Mt.
The backup is the 447.275 machine in the same location.

Cheyenne uses the 147.105 repeater as primary and I am not sure what their backup would be.

They frequently use 2 meter repeaters. Might want to try monitoring some in your area (sorry, I don't have any freqs for you but someone here will).

In Cheyenne the hams use 147.105 PL 114.8 / 147.165 PL 114.8. There are some firemen who spot, and they usually use the TAC freqs like 154.22.

During the Windsor tornado incident skywarn was indeed on 145.115. It also helps to monitor the local police because they make reports of funnel clouds and what have you. I've heard stuff on the fire/admin channels too.

For me, I have gained knowledge of tornado activity way before it was aired on the weather radio, but a weather radio is a very good tool to have on hand as well. Mine is on 24/7 Of course it helps to always watch radar. http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/?lat=40.443&lon=-105.026&zoom=10
