actually going to a p25 vhf digital system isnt that bad i had rather had that kind of system than an 800 it has way more better range and is way more dependable we are on an p25 vhf digital sysem with my fire dept and it way out performs the 800 system hands down so they are doing the right thing as long as they dont decide to go encrypted

Why don't they use Laredo's P25 800 trunk system? It's already set up. Just asking.

i guess they dont want to use laredo PD dispatch

They want their own VHF trunking system. However it will be tied in to DPS and LPD through a patch. From what I hear, they will be able to split the boards in an event that may take place.

from wat i hear a vhf p25 system sounds alot better than a 800mhz. Ive been inside a patrol car and the audio isnt that great its really clear but it sometimes the dispatcher gets scrambled with patrol channel 2

Webb County can use their own dispatch. There are other agencies in other cities that share the same trunk system. But oh well, I'm just giving my two cents.
