I'm just returning to public safety monitoring after being away from the hobby for over 20 years. I'm currently listening to Weber County via Broadcastify. When what appears to be a fire/EMS page is broadcast it usually includes a phonetic such as "zulu" (most commonly heard), "charlie", and "delta". I'm guessing these are some sort of response codes but I can't figure out what and I haven't been able to find a listing.

I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me on what these are and if there are any others.
