Any advice for someone wanting to set up a website? Which software to use?
It's for a small business venture but I'd like the option of making it bigger in the future if all goes well.

I've seen the ads for these guys on the tv Web design software by 1&1 but know nothing about this sort of thing so recommendations would be better.

Who will be your host?

Email client?

Server hardware?




since you say you know little to nothing about doing this id suggest you take the Web Hosting route....

i co-operate a small repair business for computers and we use Website Builder | Web.com as our host and so far we are pretty happy with it.

the Battlefield 4 Gaming group i am a part of and help run, we use godaddy

I like Joomla for content management. A bit of a learning curve though. Can be easy enough to sandbox it on a LAMPP stack if you have a spare machine to play with.
