I live in Springhill and I am on the Cullen FD 158.82 you may hear me as 604...

I'd like as many 800's and any interesting frequencies you all may have.....I d not have a trunk tracker right now so I do have to listen to everything whe Im in Shreveport

You will not be able to listen to Shreveport, Bossier City, or much of any of that area's local Public Safety at all without a trunk tracker. To hear any of the State of Louisianna's Agencies, BC, S'Port, or Caddo Parish you will need a trunk tracker. You can get one that will do the job for $200.00 or less at Radio Shack. PRO-95, PRO-2052, PRO-94, all for $200.00 or less.

Also with the listing for an 800 MHz TRS for Bossier parish,.. which I can't confirm as active,.. that would also put BP in the no can do without a trunker. Can anyone confirm if hte BP TRS is on yet?

But when I am in Shreveport I put in all the 800 frequencies listed and I can hear the calls just fine with out a trunk tracker....Tell me please what I am missing with not having a T.T? I hear all the traffic..

You hear a jumble of mixed calls and conversations on a busy day. You cant just listen to say one agency. If you want to be able to only hear say police units without hearing the ditch digger calling in to say he can't get the ditch witch to run,.. you have to have a trunk tracker. To accurately follow conversations on a TRS, the trunkers are the way to go. And be very glad that your not trying to follow an EDACS system, cause youd truly get lost in the land of beep beep beeps.

I really miss the old "We bring good things to life" jingle they used to use on EDACS systems. I still occasionally hear a system up in Canada that still uses it, although it has been outlawed by the FCC as being music here in the USA.

As soon as I get another trunker/800 capable scanner,.. and a portable tabe recorder and a patch cord.
