I had an Eton shortwave radio that had a similar coating, same thing, got nasty sticky. Like the adhesive from a sticker all over it. Unfortunately the antenna snapped right off the circuit board so I chucked it. When it was new I loved the coating, but I didn't know it would turn to goo as it aged. I now avoid anything with that coating
