This last week, I was listening to Kentucky State Police (not sure if it was Henderson or Madisonville) trooper call out a traffic stop and read out the plate, vehicle description, and location. Within moments I heard what sounded like a unit key up and quickly identify as "ATF # to KSP # , he's one of ours, go to 3". I never heard anything after that and it sounded like some sort of sting or surveillance op ongoing.

Did anyone else catch this , I'm not sure which night it was or what time, My contact at KSP was unaware of any interoperations ongoing with government agencies in either jurisdictions at this time.

This is what I have for KSP F-3
154.920 (162.2 PL) KSP F-3 KSP F3 - Portable Repeater
453.300 (289 NAC) KSP-TAC 3 KSP TAC3 - Car To Car / Air To Ground

The 154.920 is a vhf portable frequency, rarely used. I'd be more inclined for the 453.300, which I've heard to be called "Tac". I think it is simplex in that form. There is another version of that frequency used as a statewide mutual aid channel.

I once saw a ISP investigator at the Champaign State Garage open his unmarked car trunk and he had maybe 75 different sets of plates.
He said if they were "Run" they would come back as not on file. The car was a "Plain Jane" drug confiscated vehicle. No spot light, no antennas.

I'm inclined to agree with ofd8001 on this, I know they weren't close to Union County KY because I didn't pick up anything else up on any other channels.
It's the first time I've heard a federal agency pop up on KSP channels and ID, even briefly.
I have seen tons on unmarked cars, trucks, vans, sports cars and even know where KSP plates most of their undercover vehicles, think southern US. I know one of our local sheriffs had a dark plate cover on his duty vehicle and made a out of state trip and shorty after that he had removed his cover
