I'm listening to MPSCS in Romulus and I am getting Mackinac County PD Central clear as a bell but Monroe County likes to bonk out. Any insight?

Well, there are a few opionions going around about this.
1) Someone is down this way with a portable or mobile radio from there.
2) Conditions are right and they are getting into multiple towers.
As for Monore, I monitor it from Ypsilanti and I have a 7 element yagi and it still bonks on me.....the reason that you cannot hear Monroe very well is the fact that the towers are spaced quite a distance from each other, the south end of monroe county is having all kinds of problems, I would not worry too much they will have it fixed with time. For now though, if you want to monitor Monroe county just listen to them off of the Flat Rock tower.......

Heres a question to that. Flat Rock tower does not have any partner towers listed for it. So how could someone on the Eastside listen to monroe?
The Flat Rock Tower does show "neighbor towers" on pro96com.........You will only hear a couple of Monroe's talkgroups on the Flat Rock tower but that is better than nothing.....
Again I am in Ypsilanti and I hear Monroe County off of the Flat Rock tower all the time, so nobody else should have a problem as long as they are recieving the Flat Rock tower well.
I have found no matter what I do, I cannot increase monroe where I live, I get it at about 90% most of the time, but it still bonks quite a bit.

Im confused...so this system is still susceptible to 'skip'? I could conceivably hit a tower in Detroit from Attwood?

On those odd nights where ducting is occuring, I've heard towers from around Grand Rapids, and even some up in the upper lower penninsula at times from home. And that was on the 800Mhz duck, I don't have an outdoor scanner antenna.
