FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: DATE: 10-14-08 TIME: 1:30 P.M.


On October 14, 2008 at approximately 6:15 A.M., Colorado State Troopers
responded to a fatal crash on southbound Interstate 25 at milepost 244 in
Weld County. A grey 2005 Volkswagen (VW) Jetta was southbound on Intestate
25. A blue 2003 Freightliner and trailer were also southbound on
Interstate 25 in the right lane, ahead of VW. The VW collided with the
trailer of the Freightliner and wedged under the rear portion of the
trailer. The Freightliner was driven under control to the right shoulder
of the highway with the VW wedged.

The restrained driver of the VW has been identified as Matthew Guerrero,
age 25 of Greeley, CO. Guerrero sustained fatal injuries and was
pronounced dead at the scene by an attending physician from McKee Medical
Center.

The restrained driver of the Freightliner has been identified as Kabangu
Biayi, age 40 of Springfield, MO. Biayi sustained no injuries.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as contributing factors.

This crash remains under investigation.

Next of kin have been notified
