The broadcastify raspberry pi image might be worth looking at as well

Broadcastify Raspberry Pi Feed Appliance Image
I think running a RPi 3 won't be powerful enough for SDRTrunk (which is included in the image mentioned). RPi 4 would work if you disable the spectrum display. I use both RPi 5 and OrangePi 5 to run SDRTrunk. I don't have any experience with OP25. To run SDRTrunk you'd need 2 SDR dongles depending on the frequency spread of the P25 site. And with >1 dongles, you'd need a antenna splitter/multicoupler. Or you could use a SDR like an airspy which has a broader spectrum, but I don't know how well they work with a single board computer. I think OP25 can use a single SDR, but like I said, I've never used it.

I think any SDR option is going require someone to give specific help since there is a steep learning curve. It's why @scanlist called it the mad scientist setup. I can provide in-person help for setting up SDRTrunk, but it wouldn't be until several weeks from now. There are probably other forums on this site that would provide better detail on the SDR options. It might be easier to find a used P2 scanner on ebay.

Thank-you for your help, Soundchaser, yeah, used Phase II has also been a bit out of the budget, especially monitoring one agency for a feed. And others in this thread have even mentioned that my sound quality will drop down more than a few notches, it was my pride and joy to contribute a very high-quality clear and enunciated product, and even the text-to-type bots understood it much better than what I see today!
