West Metro / Waterton Freq

A couple times this weekend, West Metro mentioned going to the "Waterton Frequency".

Does anyone know what the freq is?

I have Lockheed Trunk in an open bank, but didn't hear anything on Lockheed.

Since the West Metro radios are 800 specific you will not hear them on LM's 900 Motorola system.

Try the national I-TAC frequencies or go into Talkgroup Search mode next time you hear them switch to this "frequency".

From an Air Life Dispatcher friend:

I don't know the freq, but they (Lockheed) are now using West Metro for EMS coverage rather than Columbine. It is a VHF frequency that we have used a couple of times while landing there, but I cannot recall it (15x.xxx), I think. To my knowledge, it is not associated with any trunk systems. Lockheed uses two bases of operation, Waterton and Deer Creek. Hope that gives somebody enough direction to look into. Thanks...Mike

I remember hearing simplex base activity on 153.140 and 153.245 years ago before they set up the 900 MHz moto system.

I have a stong hunch that the channel in question has little to do with Lockheed Martin. The weekend that you are speaking of had several SAR incidents involving West Metro, DougCo SAR and others in the Colorado Trail and Roxbourogh Loop areas of Waterton Canyon.

My bet is either a SAR channel, or a DWB/Reservoir channel or perhaps a South Platte Ranger District channel...

What he's saying is that because Lock/Martin is on a 900MHz system and West Metro are 800MHz DTRS you aren't going to be able to just go into a TG `search' mode and expect to find them on the Lock/Martin system. You *might* find something on the DTRS doing the TG `search' but, instead as he suggested you also might want to try the I-TAC freqs. It's probably more likely that *if* it is something to do with Lock/Martin they, not West Metro, can probably make the switch between 900 and 800 and they'd probably use one of the I-Tac freqs.

Looks like you've got yourself a rather interesting seach.

West Metro is actually on Lakewoods EDACS system. South Metro (Douglas County), and North Metro are on the DTRS.

168.725 I heard "Waterton Canyon" on this frequency. I was at work, so I missed most of the traffic. I think it was in reference to a brush or campfire.
