Hello Everyone, I was told that WV Dept. highways will be changing from conventional frequencies to a Trunk System. Does anyone have any information on this subject ? Also if they do will it be encrypted ?

Most likely they will use SIRN, already used my most state agencies. Encryption is unlikely.

It will be a very long process for them to switch over to SIRN is they will have to install new radios into well over a thousand vehicles as well as install base radios at all the county headquarters and outposts statewide.

Remove the PL. Also, make sure you are using a good antenna designed for that band. I know in District 5, they use a UHF repeater from their low-band radios. I see in the DB that District 4 has one as well.
