Westchester County 470.900 and 473.900??

I happened to be looking through the FCC database and came across this license WQLC746 which is licensed to Westchester County and it happened to make me curious since I didn't see it listed in the database. It has a transmitter located ontop of the HPN Terminal. Any idea of whether or not this is part of the Westchester County Trunked radio system or is part of a new county pd radio system or county fire system??

Also has an associated callsign of WQJG838

Frequencies are:

470.9000 FB2 Output Power of 248.000
473.9000 MO

could be an ambulance agency, or possiably a back up system in place for either pd/ems/fire. feel free to correct me if im wrong

Even better the ERP is 402 watts...mobiles are 106.9 ERP OUCH.....
license also says ATTN: to DoIT radio and the assoc callsign repeaters are all well over 200 watts ERP....

I would think it is something for the airport, but 248 watts is a lot of power.

I also originally thought that it may have been for the airport maybe like airport ARFF fireground or dispatch channel but then realized that 248 watts is a lot of power for covering a small area such as the airport.

ERP is (basically) calculated by taking the transmitter output power - feedline loss - connector loss - duplex or other filter losses + antenna gain. So depending on those gains and losses, a starting round number for transmitter power out like 100 can become an odd number.

No need to do this. These sites are used by various Westchester Systems including the UHF Trunked System and the County PD.

I've been listening to this freq, and have not heard anything yet.


Also, in The Request for Waiver at http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/ApplicationSearch/applAdmin.jsp?applID=4610320#attachments, there is reference to this freq, and three other freq's, to be used for the North Zone of the UHF Trunked System.
