Westchester County Trunk System

I hear a rumor that Westchester County's trunk system is not going to be LTR, rather it is going to be Motorola Type II. Anyone have any info on this?

According to an e-mail I received from Emergency Services Commissioner Kelly, the new Fire/EMS trunked system will have 9 tower sites and be a SmartNet system. There are ongoing negotiations to have sites at Grasslands(Valhalla), Mountain Lakes(North Salem), Blue Mountain(Cortlandt) or Benefield Blvd.(Peekskill), Guard Hill(Mount Kisco), Pound Ridge, New Rochelle, Ossining, Yonkers, and Purchase. The license for the system is WPVA646. The freq's will be in the 470 band.
Westchester County will purchase a mobile radio and a portable radio for all front line apparatus. Fireground frequencies will remain with the 453/458 freq's of WPMJ238.

hi everyone i am new to this web site i was wondering if any one nows any freq for the yonkers police i as listing the other night and heard some one saying go to channel seven is there a channel for the yonkers police if not any freq for yonkers is good please let me now thank you again

Channel 7 should be just channel 1.. Last time I check YPD was setup as

Police 1
Police 2
Police 3
Car to Car
Ambulance
Police 1
Police 1, Etc

Only exception is ESU, SOD, OEM, and maybe some high up boses

i have the bc785d w/o card( too much$$) can you monitor smartnet without card? bill :?

You can monitor any trunked system that's not digital.. Westchester county Won't be digital at this time. However the new NYS system will be digital, I think EDACS
