Does anyone know what Westcom fire departrments use for fireground? I heard someone say that the building they were going to had a 'communication alert' and that they needed to switch to fireground. It is not part of the trunk system and the dispatcher is not able to communicate with them on this channel. I was in West Des Moines at the time but either wasn't close enough or I don't have the frequency in my scanner.

Also just remembered that a fire unit said the PD does not have this channel available to them.

Most units have a Simplex 800 mhz frequency to them. Not sure what that is but some have it known as fireground or some know it as Talkaround (Public Works). I'm betting that is what they are refering to
