Hello all,

I am still looking for the ambulance to hospital frequency used for Westerly Hospital. I see the 47.58 is no longer used, and I assume it is now VHF or UHF.

The other day I put scanner in search mode while some units were transporting to westerly, however I didn't find anything.

Maybe they are using cell phones now, unless someone can confirm a frequency.

Have you tried 280/340 in VHF or the UHF Med Channels ?

Westerly cHospital

Most of the departments and hospitals now exclusively use NEXTEL to communicate. I have been an EMT in Rhode Island for five years in the South County area and we have never used the radio to communicate with the hospitals. Newport still uses the old RIMCOM stuff on 155.3400 and occasionally 155.2800 The south county HEAR system operated on 155.160. Hospitals also have a talk group on the RIDOT trunked system and one can assume they will have one on the new RISCON system. You can hear information about hospital diversion on the inter city fire freq 154.2800

rimedic,

Do you remember the days of Westerly Hospital using low band 47.58 to talk to the bus, which was also shared with Ashaway Amb for dispatch, and was Westerly Amb. channel2??

Some EMT's in that area tell me they use a VHF freq now, the just didn't know the freq.

-Thanks

Are you referring to ambulance to hospital communications? If so refer the the freq's in my earlier post. Those are the only frequencies I know of in the South County area currently installed in the hospitals for med control consult and notification. As I stated previously most rescues in the state and all hospitals in the state are equipped with NEXTELS and the vast majority of communications are now done by cell phone. I am certain beyond a doubt that Westerly uses telephone as its main form of communication with the rescues and ambulances.

Checking the RR DB there is info over there, it is VHF, but FCC license info says
for "COORD DAILY HOSPITAL SECURITY AND MAINTENANCE"

Give that a try.

ecps92 is the winner!! Nice find.

Confirmed medpatch to Westerly Hospital today on 152.345. Sounds to be a repeater with a courtesy tone.

(how did you find this anyway? I've searched the db over and over!!)

I just Put in "Westerly Hospital" in the RR FCC Database Search
must better than the FCC, especially with the Mapping

The other option would of been, find the old license and then do a Radius search [all via RR]
expanding as many of the older Lat/Lon were Off, compared to what we have now with GPS

How about determining the PL or DPL and submit it to the DB

I dispatch part-time for Westerly Dispatch. This is the correct freq. for VHF Westerly Hospital from EMS communications. Some southern depts do use cell or nextel, but Westerly Ambulance does use this freq. primarily for hospital comms. DPL is 043.
