Western Nebraska communications installations

A friend of mine sent me this photo. He entered Wyoming from North Platte and noticed this antenna farm. He also observed three or four like this throughout the state. They were in remote areas and he noticed that there was usually no cell phone coverage. They were all identical, rectangular buildings with an antenna tower at each corner. Anyone know what they are used for? Photo was taken in October 2011.

Verizon

Verizon 4G LTE eNodeB. Longer antennas on the tower are for 700MHz LTE.

That is a typical FAA RCAG site.

I know of several of these sites. The one here in Nebraska are for Denver Center. I have been to a couple of them. the one on Highway 26 out of Ogallala a few times. They cover VHF and UHF air bands. they are not for Nav just for com.
