May be coming to W NY, specifically Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. Wondered what Troop/Troops I should program into the scanner. And, yes, I am an amateur radio operator:)
TIA,

That area is covered by Troop A.
The base frequency is 155.505, check the database for the rest.
Here is an excellent site: NF2G - New York
Get started there on the upper left links.

One thing to know is that the SP is dispatched by the county, on the county's channel.
Chatq is 156.21, Catt is 159.405.
NF2G has the Troop A unit number breakdown.
You will hear the SP dispatched on the county by unit numbers like 2Axx or 3Axx.
Jamestown PD is cool, Olean is OK too.

Regards.

Thank you very much, Jim. I will check out his site. If you ever need any info for N GA, let me know:)

You can also get a feel for the local radio traffic in advance by listening to RR.com's live audio feed of Chautauqua County and City of Jamestown.

I have a brother who lives over there, so I listen occasionally.
