Remember also that many of these id's are assigned but not active yet due to the continued buildout of the system.

West Slope DTRS action - someday

Thanks for all the info Jim. I look forward to when they get things going over here. I can hear both Grand Mesa and Whitewater sites on handhelds inside the house, so coverage here in the Redlands is pretty good.

BTW - Do you have any lists of the blocks of numbers that various agencies use for individual radio IDs.

While watching Montrose PD with Pro96 Com, it appears they use at least #42201 through 42283 with Dispatch being #42204.

The day that Sheridan PD was patched over to the Grand Mesa site, they were using #31562 through #31618, with 31618 being Dispatch.

The radio techs I have observed here have used ID numbers in the block from #42001 through 42074, plus 36264, 38563, and 38833.

What are the site numbers that are in the RR DTR database? They're not DEC. TIA

I've often wondered where those came from also.

I like to use the actually identifier like T0113 that comes up on the screen when your monitoring the system.

There is a way to convert the site numbers in the rr database to hex mode like it appears on the pro-96. Open up the calculator in windows xp and make sure that it is in dec mode. You may have to change it to the scientific view. Type in the site number as it appears in the rr database. Then click on the hex button. The site number is now in hex mode, just the way as it appears on the pro-96. (EX: Glendale 276=DEC, 114=HEX). If Lindsay or any of the db admins are reading, how about adding support for hex tower numbers as well as decimal?

It doesn't seem to work out right. Maybe Pro96Com determines site numbers differently. For example in Pro96Com the Greenwood Village site is hex164 which would be dec356 and the RR db says dec320. Fairplay (Sacramento) is hex146 which would be dec326 and RR says dec402. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but they still don't come out right for me.

Pro96 Com

When I look at the "Tower Information" Screen of Pro96 Com, it shows the Tower ID's in two ways. For instance, when Im tuned to Grand Mesa the Tower # shows as 201 (T0201) and it shows the neighbors as:

210 (T020A)
211 (T020B)
212 (T020C)
249 (T0231)

Am in not right in reading the first number 201, 210, etc as the decimal number for the tower site?

The way it works is that the actual site number is a 2 digit number. The Moto. radios display the number in decimal. The site number is broadcast in Hex.

There is also a parameter called RFSS (RF Subsystem). This defines the part of the system that the site is in.

So, when you see T020A on the Pro 96, that is:

RFSS = 2

Site = A (Hex) or 10 (Decimal)

The Greenwood Village site in Denver is on RFSS = 1, Site = 40 (Hex), 64 (Decimal).

Correct...

The numbers shown in Pro96com and the RR database are a decimal hybrid of the RF SubSystem number and the site number... Think of it in two parts, the last two digits are the site number, and the other digits are the RFSS number.

Pro96Com only shows the HEX format to make it easier to compair the information shown in the Pro-96 with the data on the screen.
