Good evening all. I'm trying to pick up Westfield PD on my Uniden Bearcat BCD996P2. I've downloaded the frequencies from the RR database and uploaded them into the scanner using FreeSCAN software. Unfortunately I can't hear any of their broadcasts. Have they changed frequencies or am I just doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

OK, try this,
Consolidate the two systems into one in Freescan.
Change the System Type to "P25 Standard"
Upload it and listen.

database is accurate, I heard them tonight.
Unless things have changed in 5 years, you're going to have a very difficult time picking them up in West Springfield. Their primary repeater location is at the DPW, and is pretty badly terrain shielded to the east by the Provin Mountain/East Mountain range. When I was working in Chicopee, it was always a struggle to hear them clear. To the south, you can hear them well south of West Hartford, but that's all line of sight. They do have a backup repeater on East Mountain at the Comcast tower, but it's only used as a backup and voting receiver. (Unlike the old VHF days, when you could hear the repeater from East Mountain in Albany, NY)
Still got nothing. I work in Westfield so I’ll bring the scanner to work with me on Monday and try it in town. Thank you all for the replies.
