Westjet 517 (Boeing 737) talking to Winnipeg Centre ATC over southern Saskatchewan notified ATC that they are having problems with their flaps, and it seems like they are unable to extend their flaps. Requested ATC to have fire crash equipment on standby in Calgary.
They are declaring an emergency.
They have just been handed off to Edmonton Centre ATC. I'm guessing they should be on the ground in Calgary in about 30 minutes, but that is just a guess.
Last heard by me on Winnipeg Centre 124.3 about 1500 UTC Oct 28, 2011.
