Cities look to shift to state emergency communications systems | Observer and Eccentric Newspapers and Hometown Weeklies | hometownlife.com

The good news is that the communities have an opportunity to significantly reduce costs and improve communications by shifting to a system operated by the Michigan State Police...

The radio system is operated by DTMB/MPSCS, not MSP. MSP does do training on how to use radios on the system, but other than that, has little to do (anymore) with the system.

The MPSCS system is used by many forms of government, including public schools. Most other systems are patched into the system even though they may still be analog, DMR, or NXDN.
