WESTMINSTER - Police say an 18-year-old driver died Friday night after possibly racing another driver.
Westminster Police spokesperson Stephanie Topkoff says Matthew Herrera was heading west on West 92nd Avenue in a Silver Sebring around 11:45 p.m., possibly racing another driver, when he lost control around North Newton Street.
Herrera slid into oncoming traffic and collided with a Yukon. Herrera was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Yukon was taken to North Suburban Hospital, where he was treated and released. His name was not immediately available although we are told he is 24 years old.
Westminster Police are looking for the motorist that may have been racing Herrera.
