WESTMINSTER - Police are investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian on Thursday.

Westminster Police said the accident occurred on Highway 36, near Church Ranch Boulevard just after 11:15 a.m. on Thursday.

A woman was killed after being struck by a car, authorities said.

The woman's identity was not immediately released.

Police shut down Eastbound Highway 36 near Church Ranch Boulevard until almost 3 p.m. to investigate.
