The FCC's website has this following link as the coverage area for this DT television transmitter, which looks to be on Stone Mountain.

http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/FMTV-service-area?x=DT1238359.html

Now that page was linked from this page:
http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?list=0&facid=23948

where they stated that the coverage area was out to "36 dBu". What does dBu mean?

I'm not even close to being able to get this TV channel in Newnan GA. I can get plenty of other Atlanta digital stations there though.

Looks like their digital is on channel 12, but will move to channel 8 after February 17, 2009. I'm thinking the same thing happened to them that happened to the station I work for - you have a valid construction permit on one channel, file for your CP on your post-February '09 channel, and the other CP vanishes. Good one, FCC.

36 dBu is the signal strength that should be seen at the blue line. Within that line, the station receives interference protection from other stations. Beyond that line, you may be able to see it, but if you get interference there's no recourse.
