I'm hearing what I though was Ham traffic on 48.7400...now I think it is something different.

The voice mentioned something about All AGM sites, a statement about speed in MPH (I think) and ended by saying KDN705

Any ideas?? I'm still listening now.

Now he mentioned AGM sites again calling AGM47 and saying 6.3 miles per hour.

I found this doing a search on the RR Database:

Licensee Name:TRANSCONTINENTAL GAS PIPE LINE CORPORATION
License:KDN705
Status:Active (2004-01-28)
County:LUZERNE
State:pA
Radio Service:IG: Industrial/Business Pool

The reference to 6.3 miles per hour was probably the speed of the truck hauling all their cash! They have to drive slow these days because it's overloaded!

I did find that in a search also but it didn't seem to make sense given all the talk of Miles Per Hour.

AGM...GM=Gas Meter? Gas Main?

Would it be the speed of the gas????

Now they are saying somthing (can pick out the word) is past AGM50 at 6.4 Miles Per Hour......could they be clocking GAS movement?

SO they are launching this PIG (radio device) that they then track through the pipeline...calling out the speed it is moving as it passes different AGM (probably a gas meter, main or junction) to test the piping?? Cleans the piping also.....interesting but it sounded like something MUCH more exciting than that...

Sounds plausible.

Pigging

A pig is defined as "A device that moves through the inside of a pipeline for the purpose of cleaning, dimensioning, or inspecting." This definition covers in excess of 500 different designs and types of pigs.

Hi Scott and all,

I don't know where you got that information, raw gasoline is sent through the pipeline and is branded and graded at the terminal by adding colored dye, octane and other additives. In other words, it all comes from the same pipe.
