I know this is a NHPD channel but all I hear is the first part of a word then a dead carrier. It seems there is quite a bit of chatter but I can't follow any of it. Any ideas? thanks

It's actually a CMED channel that is now part of a UASI system.

New Haven Urban Area Security Initiative
A one site cross band repeater system located in the City of New Haven serving the City and the six towns contiguous to its borders. It can be used by all public safety agencies for interoperability. The network is operated by the City of New Haven on behalf of the UASI; mobile equipment is maintained by each participating public safety organization.

There may be a problem with the repeater set up. A while back there was interference from New Jersey or Delaware, I don't remember now, that was spotty. Could be that again. Traffic on the system varies. New Haven PD uses it for surveillance ops at times. It was used during the epic snow storms last winter when the city was trying to coordinate plowing and moving the snow piles.
