What Am I Missing ???

I bought both a 396T and a 996T about a year before the XT series of scanners were introduced. I have never updated the firmware in either one. They both work fine, and they receive all the frequencies I program into them. What am I missing by not updating the firmware in both of them ???

If your scanner is working fine then just leave it. If it ain't broke dont fix it.
If your area goes to re-banding you may need to get the update (assuming your system is 800mhz trunking etc)
