As posted above, many of us are monitoring the various ARMER sites for public safety here, but the deadline is not all that far away for many service to go to a narrow bandwidth. Some will stay analog, but go to a newer radio. Others will go to MOTO TRBO. There may even be some that decide to go to cellular, join an LTR trunked system, etc. There are choices out there. Anyway, what do YOU still like to listen to that is analog conventional here in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area? Please feel free to post the frequencies and Pl/DPL codes. I will start with a pretty common one to most of the state. I still scan through and hear:

151.1900 (159.240) PL 110.9 Minnesota DNR Parks Repeater

Of course many people already know that the input PL tones varies from park to park. No, I don't hear much on it, but I still scan through a bunch of analog channels and I do occasionally still hear Fort Snelling State Park pop up on there once in a while. What do you guys hear and what frequencies PL/DPLs are they using?

46.48 Eden Prairie Fire Main. Might miss something if i listen on ARMER. P25 simulcast issues get the best of us all at one point or another

I've been having fun listening to the ham radio guys out of the cities lately. The range and clarity on that equipment is amazing! I do what stmills does and have a scanner dedicated to the vhf public safety/fire channels still available. Seems to allow me to catch more stuff as well. Good day!

I have a couple frequencies I listen to in my area

154.100 Carver county fire pagers
452.050 Mystic lake / Little 6 Casino operations
- Open scan for FRS activity
- Open scan for 2m or 440 non repeater traffic
- Rail traffic near Midway area in Saint Paul

I still do a random sweep for new analogue stuff, there is still quite a bit of traffic out on clear frequencies in some areas within and just outside the Twin cities.

I started playing around with some old fashioned, analog, narrow band FM frequencies again today mainly to see who has gone digital and who is still analog. Right away I heard:

453.8000 162.2 W St Paul PW

So, that certainly explains why I haven't heard them on ARMER yet!

I may even put the BCD998XT and run a search with PL/DPL search on just to see what analog activity it lists on the History Log of ARC-XT PRO. I know sometimes it seems like all of the city.county.state agencies in the Twin Cities have switched, it is still sort of interesting to see what hasn't switched yet.

I did also hear the Minnesota Zoo pop up on their UHF repeater. I seem to recall some time back that they switched from an analog PL tone to the current DPL. I sort of wondered at the time if that might happen to some other users. If they are having to buy new equipment to comply with narrower bandwidths, why note switch from PL to DPL.
